The Onset of Insight
Hi, My name is Ray Paseur. In June, 2007, I drove my son to summer camp, about 180 miles each way. When I got to the camp, I found other families from my church and neighborhood that had just made the same trip. We drove big sedans and SUVs and we carried more empty seats than campers. Our kids were spending the week together at camp, and we didn't even know it. When it happened again in 2008, I knew something was wrong. We should have shared the rides.
What Went Wrong
A quick Google search found more than two million carpool web sites. How come not one of them could tell us that we had several perfect opportunities -- especially on a long trip like this? The answer is really quite simple: Those web sites are all anonymous and inert. They don't know you or me. Nobody asked us to share a ride.
